ReplyDeleteSurvey is like a hands on experience for children and they learn better by doing it themselves. Jupyter notebook is a lovely instruction toolkit. It can be used by teachers and students.
I agree kids will learn better by doing it themselves.

Ask students to make a survey on consumer awareness. They should get it filled by their parents, neighbours , friends, people working at home. Data they collect will give them a clear perspective of the topic.This is learning by doing . More interesting, breaks monotony of class room learning, increases understanding, develops interpersonal skills.
ReplyDeleteStudents can do a survey on various means of transportation in their locality. They can stand at a red light to see which kind of vehicles are more preferred. They will also get an idea about the traffic rules, if they are properly abided by or not. This will be learning by experiencing and kids will surly enjoy this.

ReplyDeleteSurvey allows students to think out of box and involves them completely in the task. It develops social skill and communication skill among the learners. Develop the sense of empathy during survey and collaboratively work to provide conclusion.
ReplyDeleteSurvey can be done on public hospitals and private hospitals, also about the urban and rural livelihoods where various people can be asked questions about their means of livelihood. The students can gather information by interacting which makes it interesting.

ReplyDeleteThis activity would enable students to communicate with the people of various strata of our society, explore about their occupation ,day today struggles, wages, way of living, eductional background, reflect on their own living standards,compare the data recorded, analyse them, and present their findings.. summarizing the learning outcome through this experiential based learning .
ReplyDeleteSurvey will give hand on experience to the students. The idea of collecting pictures of different activities too was interesting. Making a drawing of an occupation is engaging as well.
